Dear MAGNETOM user,
The articles and case reports in this issueof MAGNETOM Flash are proof of thebroad spectrum of examinations that aresupported or even enabled by Tim – theTotal imaging matrix. From diffusion-weighted imaging throughout the wholebody to examinations of our smallestpatients as presented in the case reportsfrom the Royal Children’s Hospital, Mel-bourne, Australia. The case of the conjoined twins clearlydemonstrates that the combinationof the Body Matrix coil with sequencedevelopments such as 3D imaging, contrast enhanced dynamic imagingtechniques with high temporal resolutionsuch as

DTI really doesmake a difference.Back in 2002, when Dr. Ali Nejat Bengi be-gan as Editor-in-Chief of the MAGNETOMFlash magazine, none of this would havebeen possible. Dr Bengi succeeded ingiving the Flash a very clinical orientation, focusing on relevant information. As themastermind behind the MAGNETOM Worldhe organized the first MAGNETOM WorldSummit, developed the MAGNETOM WorldInternet site and set up the 90-day-free-of-charge trial license program, amongst

other ventures. He constantly soughtways to link MAGNETOM users worldwideand to enable users with common inter-ests to meet, learn and exchange valuableinformation that would improve their clin-ical and financial outcomes. After 6 yearsDr. Bengi has left the MR Marketing groupto tackle new tasks in the United States. We can happily report, however, thatthere will still be some overlap betweenhis new goals and the ethos behindMAGNETOM Flash. We therefore wish toexpress our great appreciation for allhe has helped us achieve and to wish himwell in his future position. To ensure that the Flash does not lose itsclinical focus, the position of Editor-in-Chief will be taken by Dr. Matthias Lichy, currently Radiologist at Tübingen Univer-sity in Germany. He will also help to en-sure that the MAGNETOM World InternetSite, Trial Licenses and Summits will con-tinue to flourish. We are looking forwardto welcoming Dr. Lichy on the EditorialBoard!Regards,
