The District envisions more than just a place to store and repair streetcars Job creation is a priority for the District

The Car Barn Training Center will be a place


to train District students and residents to be the workforce for transit jobs
DDOT is currently in conversation with DCPS regarding such a program

The District envisions a state-of-the-art training center, where DCPS students will be trained to join a dynamic and growing industry

Streetcars were first established on H Street in 1872 H Street was one of the earliest and busiest commercial corridors in the District An official DC Historic and Cultural Resources Review has been initiated

The purpose is to:


Review historic properties Determine effects of streetcar on historic properties Promote good design
