Walking for Fitness
It is expected that you:1) enjoy walking enough to challenge yourself to reach a fitness level.2) have a positive attitude toward the course material and activities.3) will be willing to participate in class workouts.4) will attend class every day.5) will be on time; warm-up and cool down properly.6) will accumulate enough points to receive a passing grade.
By the end of the semester, the student will:1)
be able to walk for at least 20 minutes in his/her fitness Target Heart Rate Zone.2)
know how to design a walking program for a person of any age or fitness level.3)
have accumulated enough points to earn a passing grade.
1) dress appropriately for exercise and the weather.2) know limitations and use common sense at all times.3) warm-up and cool down properly.4) follow track and weight room rules and etiquette.5) communicate any concerns to the instructor.
Total Grade = Total points
96 - 100 = A 75 - 79 = C90 - 95 = A- 70 - 74 = C-85 - 89 = B 65 - 69 = D80 - 84 = B- 60 - 64 = D-More than 3 absences = A- or below.Below 60 points or more than 6 absences = F.
