Bailey Morgan isn't the type of girl who shows a lot of skin, but somehow, she ends up in a dressing room at the mall with her friend Delia applying a temporary tattoo to her lower back. Never one to suffer fashion doubt, trendsetter Delia knows exactly where she wants her own tattoo: on her stomach, right where her shirt ends—can you say "midriff"? Annabelle, the quiet one, chooses the back of her neck, and tomboy Zo plasters hers on the top of her foot. The tattoos will last for three days, and Delia's sure that with them, the four friends will absolutely kill at the school dance.Unfortunately, killing is just what someone has in mind, and Bailey, Delia, Annabelle, and Zo are in for the battle of their lives. Along with her tattoo, each girl receives a gift—a supernatural power to help them in their fight. As Bailey's increasingly frightening dreams reveal the nature of their enemy, it becomes clear to the girls that it's up to them to save the world. And if they can get Delia to stop using her newfound power to turn gum wrappers into Prada pumps, they might actually stand a chance. From the Trade Paperback edition.

This was an interesting concept but it didn't feel very well developed. First it moved slowly, and then at the end it was very fast. Good, but confusing.

I read the first 60 pages, but in the end I didn't care enough to go on. The premise was interesting, but there wasn't enough set-up for me and the tone rang strange for me. Obviously other people liked it since there is a sequel, but it's not for me.

I read this book a couple of weeks back, and I've been meaning to write a review, but I wasn't really sure how I felt about it. This book is the first in a series about 4 friends Bailey, Delia, Annabelle and Zo who each get a fake tattoo, and soon after find themselves with a supernatural power. The power is meant to help them save the world from evil. After thinking about it I realized I really don't care what happens with the 4 girls, so I won't be continuing the series. Overall, the book seemed rushed. The concept was good, but the delivery lacked depth. For instance, the girls get these super powers, and immediately afterwards start arguing who got the best power. What? You just find out that you can turn your hair from brown to blonde, and your thinking about what cool accessories you can make from things in a trash can, it just doesn't make sense to me. Then the whole fighting the evil thing was confusing, and I never got the sense of real danger. The characters were cliche, you got the smart one, the fashionable one, the tomboy one, and the down to earth one. Could they have been more simple? I think the reason why I was having a hard time deciding what I felt about it was because I hate to give up on a series, but there are to many books out there to waste my time on something I didn't like.

I borrowed 'Tattoo' together with 'Golden'. The style is very similar, and the paranormal elements are so much alike, it's weird. What's with the wispy tentacles already? I liked this book better than Golden, even though I almost put it down after the first page. Can we say stock characters? The story felt like it was continually skimming the surface, not digging deep enough to make it interesting, and I found the pacing slightly weird. I wanted to like it, but I didn't. And again with the dream sequences. I'm not holding my breath for her next book, which makes me slightly sad, because I wanted to like them.

Fairies at the mall.... Four friends spending Friday afternoon at the mall encounter a strange saleslady. Three of the girls get items she picks out. The fourth ends up with 4 temporary tattoos that when applied bestow psychic powers. Turns out one of the three Fates has gone bad, and the girls have only a limited amount of time to stop her from taking over the world.Ehhh.... It was okay. Not wonderful, not terrible.

First book in my library I have read by Jennifer Lynn Barnes, very talented girl. I am interested in reading more by this author. The characters are very realistic, and the story is quick paced which kept me interested all the way to the end. The story was a mixture of mythology, spells, and reality to produce a very unique and entertaining story. I look forward to reading Fate.

The lives of Bailey and her three best friends—smart Annabelle, fashionista Delia, and tomboy Zo—cross paths with an ancient evil through the form of blue-green tattoos, guaranteed to last three days. With these tattoos, the girls mysteriously receive various magical powers. Bailey can set things on fire, Delia transforms one object into another, Annabelle gets mind control, and Zo can see the future. At first these new powers are fun, but they soon realize that they’ve been given these powers not to enjoy themselves, but to battle an ancient evil that will kill innocent people in order to gain power. The challenge seems insurmountable, but with their strong friendship and belief in one another, the four girls have more power than they ever imagined. The young author Jennifer Lynn Barnes does a fantastic job of telling an exciting yet relatable story. The writing is easy, the characters well developed. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this marvelously unique book.

While shopping with her girlfriends, Bailey finds some interesting temporary tattooes that end up giving her and her friends the powers of the Sidhe. They also receive the responsibility of defeating the third Sidhe who wants to take over the world and kill all the humans, etc. Fairly predictable in many parts, but an enjoyable read and I liked the extra bits - like asking the aid of a professor of ancient languages.

It starts out a la sisterhood of the traveling pants, but then takes a fantastic turn. Four very different, but very close best friends are at the mall and one gets these cool looking temporary tattoos. So they all decide to put one on. Turns out the tattoos give them supernatural powers and that a great evil is coming to destroy humanity. But what can four teenage girls do? Quite a lot it turns out. In a completely surprising twist at the end, they find themselves battling evil and one will shoulder a responsibility that no mortal has ever born.

Bailey and her three girl friends go to the mall and meet a strange lady who sells them a set of four temporary tattoos. The tattoos each bestow different supernatural "gifts" . Itis up to the four girls to stop some evil forces from doing terrible things to the world before the "temporary" tattoo disappears.
