Activity
Warm up: Teacher asks ss to stand up and exercise a bit. T will shout spin and they will have to spin, dance and they will dance together. T will say jump and they will have to jump. T will shout eat then drink and they will have to do so. (5 mins) Presentation: Teacher introduces the unit using posters and flashcards. T will ask ss to read and say, along with her. Then T will illustrate the food categories. Fruit, vegetables, and other foods. (15 mins). Guided practice: (categorize) T will tell ss that they will play a categorization game in which ss will have to separate food into the right type. T will ask ss to pass up front and place food in the right paper bag. T will throw a ball to a ss and that student will get to participate, then he/she will throw the ball to another student.(10 mins) Independent practice: Teacher will explain the instructions. T will give two worksheets, one labeled of each food category and ss will have to cut and paste each item (food) of handout 2, in the right category. (10 mins) Assessment: The teacher will give a short quiz to check students understanding, it contains words to trace and images to match correctly. T will explain the instructions; T will ask parents to help students. (10 mins)
