Objective:
Troubleshooting Ethernet Switches and VLAN configurations
Requirement:
1- Cisco switch2- Four PC3-
Four 10” Ethernet cables
 4- One console cable
Procedure:
Step 1:
Connect four PC’s with IP address as following:
 
PC Number Port number IP address and subnet mask PC1 Fa0/1 10.0.0.1 and 255.255.255.0PC2 Fa0/2 10.0.0.2 and 255.255.255.0PC3 Fa0/6 10.0.0.6 and 255.255.255.0
 
PC4 Fa0/7 10.0.0.7 and 255.255.255.0
Step 2:
Use Following commands to delete VLAN and switch configuration:-
Write Erase (that erases the configuration performed but not the IOS)Delete vlan.dat (this deletes the VLAN)Reload (to start with the new configuration)
Step 3:
 Assign speed 10 and half duplex to port fa0/1 and fa0/2 by using command:-
Speed 10Half duplex (this is used in order to prevent collisions)
Step 4:
Port number fa0/6 and fa0/7 has been put into VLAN 10 as an access port member.
