Bayonne, Camden*, Carteret, East Orange, Elizabeth, Gloucester City*, Guttenberg, Hillside, Irvington, Jersey City, Kearny, Mount Holly, New Brunswick, Newark, North Bergen, Orange, Passaic, Paterson, Pemberton, Perth Amboy, Plainfield, Roselle, Trenton, Union City, and West New York. *In Camden County

Incentive Breakdown
Single family homes & townhouses Tier 1- Home audit performed by a certified contractor o No Incentive Tier 2- Audit finds estimated Total Energy Savings (TES) of between 10% and less than 20% o Must install air sealing o May install insulation and duct sealing/insulation o May include water heater measures from eligible measures list o $2,000 rebate (not to exceed 50% of measures used to calculate TES) o Up to $5,000 loan at 0% where an utility loan is unavailable Tier 3 (level 1): TES of 20% to less than 25% o Must install at least two measures Including air sealing from the eligible measures list o $4,000 rebate (not to exceed 50% costs) o Up to $10,000 loan at 0% where an utility loan is unavailable Tier 3 (level 2): TES of 25% or greater o Must install at least two measures Including air sealing from the eligible measures list

o $5,000 rebate (not to exceed 50% costs) o Up to $10,000 loan at 0% where an utility loan is unavailable

Multifamily Homes Improvement packages showing 10% - 20% total building energy savings o Per unit incentive of $500 Improvement packages showing 20% - 25% total building energy savings o Per unit incentive of $1,000 Improvement packages showing 25% + total building energy savings o Per unit incentive of $1,500 Incentives not to exceed 50% of costs for approved measures. Eligible measures are the same as for single family homes. o Appliances, lighting, doors, and windows are not eligible measures.

Biopower

Biopower technologies using a renewable supply of organic material to produce electricity.

Solar

Whats Eligible
No new rebates available for solar installations.

Incentives
SRECs available through the SREC Registration Program. 1 SREC = 1,000 kWh of produced solar electricity. SRECs are sold on the open market to utility providers.

Pay for Performance

Whats Eligible?
Whole-building energy improvements 1. Existing buildings 2. New Construction

Incentive Breakdown
Existing buildings o Must show a peak demand of over 100 kW for any of the preceding 12 months 1. Hospitals, public colleges/universities, 501(c)(3) non-profits, affordable family housing, and local government entities do not need to meet 100 kW requirement o Energy reduction plan must show a packaged of measures that reduces current energy consumption by 15% or more o Incentive will be between $5,000 and $50,000 based on approximately $0.10 per sq ft and not exceeding 50% of the facilities annual energy expense. Paid upon satisfactory completion of 3 milestones: 1. Submit a complete proposed energy reduction plan prepared by approved program partner 2. Installation of recommended measures (incentives based on projected electricity and natural gas savings) 3. Completed report verifying energy reductions based on 1 year of post implementation results (electricity and natural gas savings will be paid based on actual savings if minimum 15% reduction is met) New Construction o Commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings with 50,000 sq ft + of planned conditioned space 1. Hospitals, public colleges/universities, 501(c)(3) non-profits, affordable family housing, and local government entities do not need to meet 50,000 sq ft requirement o Buildings undergoing substantial renovation are also eligible if project involves: 1. Change of use and reconstruction of space within

2. Work that requires building to be out of service for 30+ day o 3 step incentives 1. Submit a complete proposed energy reduction plan prepared by approved program partner $0.10 per sq ft up to $50,000 2. submit a complete as-built energy reduction plan based on actual installed energy efficiency measures $1.00 per sq ft 3. Submit completed commissioning report with results verifying performance of energy efficient equipment. If minimum 15% energy reduction is achieved: $0.35 - $0.65 per sq ft Supplementary loans available*

Whats Eligible?
Companies who already have an approved energy reduction plan under Pay for Performance

Loan Description
Low interest loans to support up to 80% total eligible project costs. Loans will not to exceed $2.5 million.

Direct Install

Whats Eligible?
Commercial and industrial building that did not exceed a peak electrical demand of 150 kW in any of the previous 12 months and is served by a regulated NJ utility provider.

Incentives
Qualified applicants may receive up to 70% of retrofit costs. Incentive capped at $75,000 per project.

Local Government Energy Audit

Whats Eligible?
Buildings owned by: 1. Local governments 2. NJ state colleges and universities 3. 501 (c)(3) non-profits

Incentive
Participants receive 100% subsidy for an energy audit performed by an auditing agency from a pre-approved list.
