welcomes contributions from RTDemployees and retirees—letters to the editor, story ideas,opinions, employee and staff activities, and other submis-
sions. Deadline is the
28th
of the month for inclusion in thefollowing month. Submissions should be typed double-
spaced and signed by the author or on disk using the
Wordstar 4 or WordPerfect programs. Opinion pieces and
letters to the editor should not be more than 500 words andshould be submitted on disk whenever possible. The editor
reserves the right to select, edit, and position all copy.Stories may be reprinted with acknowledgment of

Charles Storing Elected Board Vice President
Charles
Storing was
elected June 27 as the RTD
Board's new vice president.Storing, who's served on the
Board 15 years, has beenthe mayor of La Puenteseven times. He has been a
La Puente councilman for31 years. As an RTD
director, he represents the
San Gabriel Valley from
Pasadena to Pomona. A
native of Newport Beach,Storing is a member of theExecutive Board of the SanGabriel Valley Associationof Cities and director of theLeague of California Cities,Los Angeles County Divi-
sion.
Glendale's Raggio Appointed To Board
Glendale City Council-
man Carl Raggio has been
appointed to the RTD Boardof Directors by the CitySelection Committee. A
Glendale resident since
1963, Raggio spent a 40-
year career in the aeronau-
tics industry at the Jet
Propulsion Laboratory. Heretired in 1990 after serving26 years as Design SectionManager. During his career,he participated in thePioneer, Ranger, Mariner,
Viking, Voyager and Galileo
space prog-rams.
He was elected to theGlendale City Council in1985, serving one term asmayor in 1988. He is active
in numerous communityorganizations in Glendale,including the Glendale
Unified School District,Glendale CommunityCollege, the Glendale-
Burbank-Pasadena Airport
Policy Advisory Committee,
the Glendale Symphony,several youth organizationsand the Glendale Gateway
Kiwanis Club.Raggio was chosenGlendale's Man of the Year
in 1984 by the Glendale
Chamber of Commerce and
received the Jet PropulsionLaboratory's Community
Service Award the sameyear.Raggio and his wife,Marilyn have two sone, one
daughter and five grandchil-
dren.
