10/10/10 Work Party!
October 10, 2010 (10/10/10) is a day of world-wire 350.org efforts to create a global movement to fight climate change, and build local community resilience. I.D.E.A.S., UCF Student Sustainability Alliance, and UCF's Environmental Coalition (E.Co) organizations are teaming up to throw a UCF WORK PARTY! Over 7,000 events are expected to take place in 180 countries for the 10/10/10 Global Work Party, the single largest day of carbon-cutting action in the planet's history. The day is being organized by 350.org and the 10:10 Campaign. Starting at 9am, students, community members, and UCF faculty will get together to host 10 WORK PARTIES:
- Energy Education with Sunny the Solar Car - Oyster Mat making - Garden Day - Up-cycling station (Ttotes, Plastic bracelets, ect.) - Nature Trail tours - Solar Cooker 101 - Bike Repairs

UCF Community Organic Garden is coming along...

Audubon The Big Sit


On Sunday, October 10, 2010 from 7:30-2pm the Seminole Audubon Society(SAS) will hold its annual day long All About the Birds event in conjunction with the 16th Annual Big Sit bird count at the Lake Jesup Wilderness Area(5951 S.Sanford Ave. Sanford, FL 32773). Garden Fridays
Come volunteer in the Community Garden every Friday at 8:00am, 10:00am, 1:00pm or Thursday by appointment at the UCF Arboretum. Honest Eats Campaign!

The Student Sustainability Alliance's Honest Eats Campaign is seeking all food activists! We are opening up out campaign so that we can get more students involved with advocating more local, organic, ethical, and sustainable food on campus. Our main initiatives this year are to continue to work with UCF Dining Services, get more edible landscaping on campus, and educate students about the importance of honest eating.
