Dear fellow American,

I am writing to encourage you to support Allen Quist for First District Congress. This is why:

I was there in 1998 when Allen spoke to the Minnesota Republican State Convention. The title of his speech was, “A New Birth of Freedom.” Many of those 5,000 Republicans in attendance said it was the greatest political speech they ever heard.

That speech made such a huge impact on Minnesota Republican politics that numerous Republican activists talked about it for years afterward.

I am asking you to support Allen, not just because of the huge influence he has had, but especially because what he said in that speech, and what he says today, are one and the same. You should support Allen because he is someone you can trust.

I don’t have to tell you that trust is a rare commodity in today’s political world.

I know Allen. I have worked with him for years. The organization EdWatch began as a result of the leadership of Allen Quist. This organization, which I worked with closely, became the model of effective grass roots politics in Minnesota.

The reason the organization did so much good was largely because of Allen’s intellectual firepower and courage. Many thousands of Minnesota students owe a huge debt of gratitude to Allen for his highly successful work with EdWatch.

Other thousands of grassroots Minnesotans who worked with EdWatch over the years know they can trust Allen. They know he speaks the truth. They know he chooses to do what is right.

They know he acts on principle, not political correctness or political expediency.

So why is trust so important? There are many reasons, but the biggest reason is our nation is headed toward bankruptcy. And the Washington establishment seems to have little awareness of how serious things are.

But I know, and you know, that we are less than six years away from being where Greece is today—we are perilously close to economic default and societal upheaval.

It’s actually worse than what we usually hear. Morgan Stanley says that if you add in state and local government debt, along with unfunded obligations, we are worse off than Greece in terms of our debt to income ratio—and that is right now—that is today!

Because we are so close to financial default, we need to elect members of Congress we can trust to do whatever is necessary to balance our budget.

Most Congressmen, including many Republican Congressmen, unfortunately can’t be trusted to take the hard votes necessary to balance the budget.

But I know Allen. I know his character. He’s a man of integrity. He’s a person I’ve come to respect.

Here’s where and how you can trust Allen Quist:

• You can trust him to do whatever is necessary to kill Obamacare.
• You can trust him to defend and follow our U.S. Constitution.
• You can trust him to not raise taxes.
• You can trust him to make the tough choices needed to balance our budget.
• You can trust him to be accurate in what he says.
• You can trust him to defend our right to bear arms.
• You can trust him on the right to life.
• You can trust him to care deeply about all the citizens of our great nation.
• You can trust him to give an honest answer to your questions.
• And, you can trust him to be true to the principles he advocates. Go ahead and ask him: Why are you doing this? His answer is always the same. He says: “It’s all about being free!

You see—and this is the bottom line—we can trust Allen to do everything he can to keep our nation and its people free! He loves to quote Abraham Lincoln who said we fought the Civil War to ensure that, “this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom.”

I know Allen. He explains what he is all about when he says, “It’s all about being free.” You can trust me on that. Because, that’s who he is.
