lessons are for you and for you alone. It’s difficult to tell someone how to live their life or to
even explain to them the correct steps in overcoming some of the many hurdles that one must bear. Nomatter how much you protest and preach, people must dabble in their own life experience. While youmay be inclined to walk alongside your children to show them, step by step, what you have found to bepitfalls and stumbling blocks, they too must learn to fall so that they too can learn how to get up. It is inthe getting up from our falls that we learn the most about life. These lessons prepare us for the nextround of what is to come in our life experience.
It is in the upward impetus that comes from being down that we experience life’s lessons.
Sometimes when you are down it is hard to get up. But it is in those moments of getting up that you findthe beauty and wisdom in your relationship to others. Sometimes you truly need to let go of certainpeople and allow others to help you stand when you are down. Sometimes it is in crying and hurtingthat you begin to gain strength for future hurts and pains. And it is in this strength that you discoveryour courage. It is in this strength that you find your true voice. It is in this strength that you takeownership of your existence.Falling and getting up are necessary parts of life unfolding. We have all experienced falling down andbruising our bodies. Sometimes after a fall a scar remains and, over time, that scar heals. A healingphysical wound can be seen in the same light as the healing that can follow an emotional fall. Emotionalfalls do leave scars, often causing us to avoid that particular pitfall for the rest of our life because we areafraid to get hurt again. But no matter how much we try to run from emotional pain, we inevitablyexperience it, and it is through suffering and death that we learn some of our most uplifting lessons.Death is as much a part of living as living is a part of dying. Every day we get older, and every day weare preparing to leave this body. Death is inevitable, and all must face it head-on.The journey of life can consume and overwhelm us; we can find ourselves lost and bewildered attimes. But if you keep learning and growing, you can certainly find your way to fulfillment. Sometimes
we get stuck in these challenges and find ourselves asking, “Why me?” We cannot see beyond the
question. For any growth to happen, we must get beyond that why, changing the question to:
How can Iget beyond this
point in my life
? How can I find the strength I need to pass through and leave behind my
own mental anguish? Stopping and reflecting is sometimes the only way to get beyond a “why me?”
While you are essentially independent of others, people are yet a part of life’s design t
o work in
support of your existence. The people I’m referring to are ageless, colorless, and classless; any person
embodying a spirit from Source can impact our life. People are people, carrying out their own destinies, just as we are. They look the same as we do and feel the same as we do. We are all together in this life
