4. Traffic Assessment
The following section provides detailed traffic analysis and important observations about traffic pattern along the project corridor. The results of the analysis can be further used for designing the pavement crust and lane requirement. The traffic analysis was carried out as per the guidelines given in IRC: SP 19-2001, IRC: 1081996, IRC: 64-1990

7-Days 24 hour classified volume count survey was conducted at two locations. Table 1.2 shows summary of Classified Volume count.

It can be seen that Average Daily Traffic at GM junction km 24/500 is higher than the Jaipur Village due industrial zone located at km 19/000 to 24/670. Most of the trips of commercial vehicles end at the industrial zone. Each Category wise details of average daily Traffic, Direction Split and PCU values are shown in Annexure 1.1 and Annexure 1.2. 4.1.2 Seasonal Correction Factor
Seasonal correction factors were worked out to arrive at Annual Average Daily traffic (AADT). Along the Savli-Halol corridor there were no existing petrol pump and toll plaza. For calculation of Annual Average Daily Traffic Seasonal correction factor value which given in DPR are taken into the consideration. Since traffic volume count surveys were carried out in the month of March 2012, the SCF for 2W, 3W, Car/Taxi was taken from Petrol data and LCV, Bus/Truck MAV and Tractor was taken from Diesel data. Adopted SCF for the AADT estimation for petrol and Diesel value is 0.88 and 0.92.
5 Draft Report
The seasonal correction factor presented above is used to convert average daily traffic into annual average daily traffic. Category wise summary of annual average daily traffic are shown in Annexure 1.3 and Annexure 1.4.

During the axle load survey truck driver interview has carried out to know the travel pattern of commercial vehicle from their origin to destination. 80% to 90% of commercial vehicle trips terminate at industrial area. Only 5% to 10% trips are observed to use the entire project road. Survey for Axle Loading Pattern was carried out at Km 24/500 near end point of project road .Sufficient trucks were stopped at surveyed locations to have different category of goods vehicles with different types of commodities loaded. Assuming the load on each axle is evenly distributed the axle load is taken to be twice the wheel load. Axle load were weighted for all the fast commercial modes (LCV, 2-Axle, 3-Axle and Multi axle trucks) on a sample basis, for 24 hours. Table 1.3 shows the comparison of actual VDF with DPR Values. GENERATED TRAFFIC
Special investment region is being developed near savli in 123 sq km area. Potential sectors comes to these area is Engineering, Auto mobiles, Engineering plastics, & Electrical and Electronics. Due to this development transportation demand will also increase so for future estimated traffic plying on the road will also increase with the effect of industry zone. Around 300 trucks and 300 cars will be generated in next 2 years.

TRAFFIC FORECAST
Traffic forecast and finalization of growth rates are necessary for planning and designing functions of the highway and pavement design. For traffic projections, annual rate of growth of commercial vehicles taken as min 7.5 per cent as per Clause No: 5.5.4 of Schedule D.The following table summarize traffic forecasting for a horizon of 15 years. Final Growth Rate Values and forecasted traffic at both locations are shown in Annexure 1.5, 1.6 and 1.7.
