Lack of Fruitfulness

What Cannot Satisfy Us


Eating: Ecl 6:7 All the labour of man is for his mouth, and yet the appetite is not filled.

Earnings: Ecl 4:8 There is one alone, and there is not a second; yea, he hath neither child nor brother: yet is there no end of all his labour; neither is his eye satisfied with riches; neither saith he, For whom do I labour, and bereave my soul of good? This is also vanity, yea, it is a sore travail.

Entertainment: Ecl 1:8 All things are full of labour; man cannot utter it: the eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing. Extravagance: Lk 15:13-14 And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living. 14 And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want.

Estates: Ecl 5:10 He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase: this is also vanity.

Jn 6:35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. Mt 5:6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Ps 36:8 They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.

Ps 81:10 I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it. Ps 23:5 thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Ps 17:15 As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness. Re 7:16 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.

Ye eat, but ye have not enough 1. Feeding: It is not enough seeing the food, to be satisfied we need to eat. (i) Sincere Food: 1Pet 5:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby

(ii) Solid Food: It is not enough that we drink milk; to be satisfied we need to eat meat. 1Cor 3:1,2 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. V2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.

(iii) Sweet Food: It is not enough that we eat food that it should also be enjoyable. Ps 119:103 How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth! Ps 1:2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. Pr 27:7 The full soul loatheth an honeycomb; but to the hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet.

(iv) Sufficient Food: It is not enough that we eat; to be satisfied we need to eat sufficient food Ps 81:10 I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it. Ex 12:4 every man according to his eating shall make your count for the lamb.

(v) Sustaining Food: Nutritious Not just quantum but kind quality Job 23:12 I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.

(vi) Strong Food: It is not enough that we eat sufficient food but for the people to be satisfied we need to eat Strong Food.

Heb 5:12-14 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.
