What Cannot Satisfy Us

Eating: Ecl 6:7 All the labour of man is for his mouth, and yet the appetite is not filled.

Earnings: Ecl 4:8 There is one alone, and there is not a second; yea, he hath neither child nor brother: yet is there no end of all his labour; neither is his eye satisfied with riches; neither saith he, For whom do I labour, and bereave my soul of good? This is also vanity, yea, it is a sore travail.

Entertainment: Ecl 1:8 All things are full of labour; man cannot utter it: the eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing. (ii) Solid Food: It is not enough that we drink milk; to be satisfied we need to eat meat. 1Cor 3:1,2 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. V2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.

(iii) Sweet Food: It is not enough that we eat food that it should also be enjoyable. Ps 119:103 How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth! Ps 1:2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. Pr 27:7 The full soul loatheth an honeycomb; but to the hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet.

(iv) Sufficient Food: It is not enough that we eat; to be satisfied we need to eat sufficient food Ps 81:10 I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it. Ex 12:4 every man according to his eating shall make your count for the lamb.

(v) Sustaining Food: Nutritious Not just quantum but kind quality Job 23:12 I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.

(vi) Strong Food: It is not enough that we eat sufficient food but for the people to be satisfied we need to eat Strong Food.
