Two Main Roles of the Parent

In The Class: Parent as Co-student Model appropriate behavior, joining in enthusiastically with the activities. Take the opportunity to carefully observe your child. This is a time when you can discover much about your childs educational needs and progress. Closely observe the teacher. Much of the dialogue with parents happens in a subtle way through demonstration and modeling. At Home: Parent as Home Teacher Play the CD regularly in the home. A thorough knowledge of the songs and rhymes does make a HUGE difference. Take on the teacher role at home. Practicing regularly with your child builds their condence as well as yours. If you have questions on how to take on this role, ask the teacher. Create a rich environment for learning, providing opportunities to observe and learn from others with much repetition and joyful encouragement.
