David Sauter, Commodore Ephraim Yacht Club P.O. Box 331 Ephraim, WI

Dear David:

Jim and I feel most fortunate to have joined the Ephraim Yacht Club! Two of our grandchildren, Nick Rossiter, 13, and Andie Rossiter, almost 9, visited Door County for a week in July and signed up for private sailing lessons beginning Tuesday, July 8. After reading Christian Pillats story in the Eagles Cry, I was most excited to meet him! Christian suggest Nick work with Ted Lott. For a 13-year-old, Nick is a respectable sailor since his mothers father had spent quite a bit of time showing him the ropes before his death in December. It was most important to continue to nurture Nicks fondness for the sea. And Ted Lott did a spectacular job!!! Nick still says it was his favorite part of Door County. There was a motorcycle that brought about stiff competition but sailing won out!!! Its real important for girls at the awkward ages of third and fourth grades to have influential role models. Despite Christians suggestion that Nick and Andie take lessons together, he was willing to bow to my recommendations that they take individual lessons. For that, I am most appreciative! And Christian found Jillian for Andie. Andie loved Jillian and was so disappointed when the last lesson ended on Thursday!!! She didnt want to go home!!! So a huge Thank You to the Ephraim Yacht Club for playing such an important and impressive role in the lives of two grandchildren, their parents and grandparents!!! Ted Lott and Jillian were able to grab the heart strings of two really cool kids (of course, all grandmothers think their grandchildren are precious) and provide wonderful memories that the kids can hardly wait until next summer to recreate!!! Next summer we hope to block out enough time so they can take group lessons and meet some new friends!

Warmest regards, Maggie Peterman
