If you are assigned a tent to take home, you must set it up when you get home or hang it up to dry in the garage or basement. Look over the tent and make sure of the following. Fill out the Tent inspection form as you clean and repack the tent o Look for rips or tears. o Make sure of the correct amount of poles and that none are broken or bent. o Make sure there are enough stakes for the tent. Count the loops on the floor of the tent and number of guy wires. This will determine the amount of stakes required for that particular tent. o Make sure the rain fly is included. o Set up the tent to air it out. o Clean off dirt, bird droppings or sap with warm soapy water (non-detergent) Never place the tent in the washer and/or dryer. o Allow the tent to dry thoroughly. o Sweep out the interior of the tent. o Wipe stakes and tent poles with a dry soft cloth to remove any dir and moisture. o Once the tent is dry and swept out, roll it neatly and make sure it fits in its stuff bag. Make sure you include poles, tarp, guy wires, rain fly and stakes along with the tent. o Report any missing items or problems to the troop Quartermaster using the Equipment repair/replacement request form when you return the tent.

Turn in the tent and tent inspection form to the troop Quartermaster.
