The 2005 Annual Awards Banquet was held on April 2, 2005 at the Holiday Inn Central inLafayette, Louisiana. Maj Steve Knapper served as Master of Ceremonies and the guestspeaker for the evening was Mr. David Smith, Aviation Safety/Airport Compliance Officer,Department of Transportation, for the State of Louisiana. Michael H. DuBois, Lt Col, CAPLouisiana Wing ES Training OfficerPHOTO OF COL DUBOIS HEREPlease welcome the Louisiana Wing’s Emergency Services Training Officer, Lt ColMichael H. DuBois. Col DuBois brings a vast wealth of experience to his position in over20 years of service in CAP. Col DuBois began his CAP career as a member of theTigershark Composite Squadron, Amarillo, Texas. He has completed all levels of theSenior Training Program through the highest level, the Gill Robb Wilson Award. His CAPawards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Award, numerous Commander’sCommendations from the Southwest Region, Texas Wing, HQ Group 1, and TigersharkComposite Squadron, Region Commander’s Award of Excellence, Command Service, andSenior Recruiter.Col DuBois has served on the National Emergency Services Curriculum Project since 1998and is a member of the National Education and Training Committee. He has attendedNational Staff College, Region Staff College, USAF Inland Search and Rescue School,USAF Mission Management Course, National Train-The-Trainer Course and served asCo-Commandant of the National Mission Aircrew School and Mission Base Staff Schoolfrom 2000-2003. He has co-authored several publications including the Mission AircrewSchool Reference Text and Support Material, Mission Aircrew School Directors Course,Flight Line Reference Text and Support Material, Mission Base Staff School ReferenceText and Support Material.Col DuBois is a qualified mission pilot with 471 hours of mission pilot time, a mission checkpilot, cadet orientation pilot, and incident commander. He has served as project officer ordirector in numerous CAP squadron officer schools, corporate learning courses, searchand rescue exercises, and scanner/observer courses.
