Bening Rahimi Titisari, G0008203, 2011. Relationship berween Passive Smokers Pregnant Women with Low Birth Weight Babies in Surakarta. Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Sebelas Maret, Surakarta. Purpose: The aim of this study is to determine the relationship of passive smoker pregnant women with low birth weight babies in Surakarta. Method: This research is analytical descriptive with the approach cause control conducted in June-September 2011 in the RS and RB PKU PKU Muhammadiyah Surakarta Muhammadiyah Surakarta. Sampling was carried out in fixed-disease sampling with inclusion criteria were (1) LBW babies and non-LBW babies at term (2) Babies born alive (3) primigravidae (4) a single fetus. Samples can not be selected if (1) Mother of active smokers (2) Genesis premature rupture of membranes (PROM) (3) Preeclampsia / eclampsia (4) history of hypertension of pregnancy (5) congenital defects (6) Consuming alcohol and drugs. Sample filled biographical data sheet and informed consent as a sign of approval, (2) passive smoker questionnaire. It was obtained 60 data and was analyzed using (1) bivariate analysis Chi Square Test (2) Multiple Logistic Regression Testing through the program SPSS 17.0 for Windows. Result: This study shows there is a difference between pregnant women who exposed by smoke with pregnant women who are not exposed by smoke. Pregnant women who exposed by smoke have a risk of having a baby of low birth weight 5.4 times greater than pregnant women who are not exposed by smoke. The conclusion was made after controlling the influence of the ANC Simpulan Penelitian: Terdapat hubungan yang signnifikan antara ibu hamil sebagai perokok pasif dengan bayi berat badan lahir rendah. Ibu hamil yang terkena paparan asap rokok memiliki resiko lebih tinggi untuk melahirkan bayi berat badan lahir rendah. Conclusion: There is signnifikan relationship between passive smoker pregnant women with low birth weight babies. Pregnant women who are exposed by smoke have a higher risk of having low birth weight babies.
