1)OnFriday,April6,2012,followinganappearanceearlierthatweekwherebothSlockett
and
his
opponent,
TravisWeipert,weregivenopportunitiestodiscusstheirqualifications,Slockettsentane-mailfrom
his
Countye-mailaddresstoofficestaffindicating
that
hewould
like
toexpand
satellite
voting
in
responsecomments
made
by
hisopponent:

my
opponentlastnight;heblasted
me
fornot
making
it
easyenough
forstudentsandminoritIestovote,
for
whatthat'sworth,probablyfromBobandSueDvorsky.Ithink
we

Thise-mailisattachedassupportingdocumentation
to
thiscomplaint.2)OnMa.rch5,2012,SlockettcirculatedhisnominationpetitionthroughouttheAuditor's
Officeduring
workhours.Accompanyingthepetition
wasa
checklisttypicallyused
by
officestaffwhengreetingcardsarecirculatedthroughtheofficetoensureeachstaffmemberhasanopportunitytosignthecard.Atthe
bottomof
thesechecklistsisablanktolistwhothedocumentistobereturnedto.Onthechecklistaccompanying
Slockett'snomination
petition,the
checklistonthe
petitionweretobereturnedtoSlockett.WhenIreceivedthepetition,Ispentseveralminutes
internally
debatingwhethertosignthepetltionof
someone
whoIwouldnotsupport
forreelection.
IconcludedthatIshouldsign
it
since[
wasanat-willemployee
andSlockett
hadtheabilitytofiremewithoutcause.Ithengavethepetitionto
a
member
afmy
staffwhoasked
if
shewasrequiredtosign

toldherthatIsigned
it
because
IwasanappointeeoftheAuditorandcouldbefiredwithoutcause.Notlongafter

hadhadthepetition,Slockettcamefromhisofficeandbegantryingtoconvince
an
electionsemployeewhohadrefusedtosign
it
thatitwaslegitimatefor
elections
stafftosignnominationpetitions.Theemployeecontinued
to
refusetosignthepetition.
After
thisconversationtookplace,Isentafriendatext
messagethat
read:

Dammit,
Andhejustlecturedanemployeewhodidn'tsign."That
text
isdated12:41p.m.March5,
2012.I
waslatertold
thatSlocketthad
discussed
with
each.ofthestaffmemberswhohadnotsignedthepetitionwhytheywereunwillingtosign.
He
told
some
staffmembersthat
if
they
wereunwillingtosignbecause
they
areworkingthathewouldbring
it
totheirhomesafterwork.Atonepointhewasoverheard
by
multiplestaffmemberssayingthathenowknewwho
his
friends
arebasedonthosethatsignedthepetition.Similaraccountshavebeenwellpublicizedinlocalpapers
with
Slockett

hadcirculated
the
petition.
Onesucharticleisattachedassupportingdocumentation.3)DuringtheweekofApril16,2012,Slockettmadenumerousphonecallstoarrangehiscampaigncommittee
and
tocontactsupporters.Beingthatmydeskwasdirectlyoutsidehisoffice,Ioverheardmanyoftheseconversations.IhaveattachedthenotesItookregardingtheconversations1couldclearlyoverhear.Additionally~[answeredphonecallsthatwereforTomthat

transferredtohimfromLoisCoxandClaraOleson.Withindaysofthosephone
callscoming
throughourofficephonelines
and
beingtransferred
to
Tom,bothofthoseindividualshadletters
pubUshed
in
the
IowaCityPress-CltleennewspapersupportingTom'sreelectioncampaign.Inadditiontothenumerousphonecalls,Tomhadacloseddoormeeting
with
MikePorteronAprll17
th
intheAuditor'SOffice.PorterIsalocalpoliticalactivistandbusinessowner
who
hasvolunteered
histime
tonumerouscampaigns,mostrecently
he
was
involved
with
the
IowaCityCity
Councilcampaignfor
Raj
Patel.

to
electionsstaff,therehasbeenalongstandingoffice
policy
thatvoterrecordshadtobeobtainedinperson
with
asignature.
Recently,
thatpolicywasunilaterallychangedbytheAuditorduetoLoiSCox,.along-timesupporterofSlockett,seekingthevoterrecordofSlockett'sopponent,TravisWeipert.Electionsstaffhasalogbookwheretheykeepsuchrequests.Thefirstrequestunderthenew
.policy
wasinSlockett'shandwriting.therequestwasmade
by
LoisCox,andtherequeststatedthat
it
hadbeensignedoverthephone.WithindaysofCoxmakingthisrequestandthisrulebeingchanged
by
theAuditor,Cox'slettertotheeditorwaspublishedinthePress-CitizenstatingWeipert"wasaregisteredRepublicanthistimelastyear".
Cox's
letterisattached,unfortunatelyIdonothavecopies
of
therequestformbuttheymaybeobtainedfromtheAuditor'sOfficelogbook.
