Microsoft sues Motorola over Xbox 360 patent issue. 10th November, 2010
Charging excessive royalties on network technology used in Microsoft's Xbox game system. Accused Motorola infringed a number of its patents in its Android-based Smartphone's, which run on software built by Google Inc.

Suit alleges that Motorola breached its commitments to standards organizations that allow other companies to license its patents relating to wireless technology and video coding, which are used in Microsoft's Xbox gaming console.

Motorola Wants Ban On Xbox 360 Sales In response to a lawsuit filed by Microsoft earlier, alleging Motorola that it was ripping the Xbox 360 manufacturer off with "royalties that are excessive and discriminatory" for certain pieces of technology Microsoft was licensing for use in the console.

Now Motorola accuses Microsoft's Xbox 360 of infringing on a number of patents it holds, and is calling for a total halt on the console's sales while the matter is sorted out. This complaint came just weeks after Microsoft sued Motorola over "excessive and discriminatory" patent licensing fees for some of the technology in the 360's wireless LAN adaptor, as well as some of its video codec's.
