Final Reflective LetterAt the beginning of the class, I expected to work on more of the writing we had done inthe previous class, but the kind of writing we did this semester was a little different. I definitelywas a little nervous we you first introduced the entire project, but once we got into it I reallystarted to enjoy it. The first part of the project (the historical inquiry paper), was a lot easier to dobecause I was used to composing a research paper; that was the only type of paper we wouldwrite in high school. I had never done any advanced types of writing so creating a concept wasdefinitely not as easy.Considering my choices, I feel like I could have gotten more out of this semester, but Ialso feel like I definitely expanded my tools as a writer and improved the techniques I wasalready using. I missed a couple of workshops/peer reviews, which are probably the most helpfulsessions, but at the same time I learned a lot while catching up with my work and attendingconferences. I think that I might have been able to advance a bit more if I had chosen a differentevent that covered a smaller timeline, so I could have focused more on detail and charactersrather than making it all the way to the conclusion of the story, but I really learned a lot from thistype of project. The way the instructor conducted activities really helped me as a writer as well, Ireally liked the teaching style. Overall, I think I was very successful in improving as a writer thissemester. In doing the concept project, my mindset as a writer completely changed. My focus as awriter went from just detail, grammar, sentence structure, and vocabulary, to purpose andaudience, which significantly helped me as a writer.
