Food Safety and Inspection Service, “Fact Sheets,” United States Department of Agriculture,http://www.fsis.usda.gov/Fact_Sheets/index.asp(Accessed November 30, 2007).Provides information about food handling and preparation in the event of an emergencyevent. “Emergency Preparedness” tells how to keep food in safe storage and properly prepare it in the case of emergency along with a discussion of food security. “Food borneIllness & Disease” provides an overview of food borne illnesses plus essential steps to prevent illness. “Safe Food Handling” teaches basic food safety for all foods, includingrecommended internal temperatures. “Meat Preparation” along with “PoultryPreparation” and “Egg Products Preparation” provide information upon the safe storage, handling, and preparation of their respective group. In the event of extraterrestrial hostile action by various factors, the obtainmentand digestion of food would be of a priority. With the extreme likeliness of disruption of normal machinery involved in the manufacture and transportation of edible materialswould require knowledge of storage, handling, and preparation of various types. Foodsecurity and illness prevention would be of great concern.

Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, “Biodiesel Handling and UseGuidelines,” U.S. Department of Energy,http://www.nrel.gov/vehiclesandfuels/npbf/pdfs/40555.pdf  (Accessed November 30, 2007).This document provides an overview of the basics of biodiesel and its use, including adiscussion of the benefits and drawbacks. There is also a section concerning safety, health and environmental issues that could conceivably arise. A list of Frequently AskedQuestions is also provided, along with a glossary of definitions for specialized terms. In the event of alien invasion, depositories of oil and other prominently used fuelsupplies. Biodiesel has the advantage of, while being highly touted has a relatively small percentage of actual production and use. Therefore it provides the potential to be passedover by the eye of the enemy and to undergo continued production and use.

Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, “Handbook for Handling, Storing, andDispensing E85,”http://www.eere.energy.gov/afdc/fuels/ethanol.html (Accessed  November 30, 2007).Provides information for storing of ethanol fuels both above and below ground, alongwith abbreviations and acronyms are explained. Safety Procedures are given along withhealth and fire safety considerations, along with practical advice upon the selection of standard equipment such as pipes, filters, hoses, nozzles, and fittings. In the event of alien invasion, depositories of oil and other prominently used fuelsupplies. Bioengineered pathogens could become a serious threat to human health if ever released. The best defense available against such an attack would be to isolate the offensive pathogen as soon as possible and to take samples. These samples can then be used toidentify, classify, and develop a treatment for the pathogen. This document providesinstructions for top notch sample handling and preparation. As

examples, pathogens that are natural to humans can have adevastating effect upon the nervous systems of extraterrestrials. Conversely, pathogensunknown to humans can produce like effects. Therefore knowledge of and a concrete plan of action for dealing with an occurrence of bioengineered threats could produce positive results in the event of alien attack. As mentioned above, this document providesinstructions on the identification, handling, identification, and combating which mostlikely would be an adopted tactic of any invaders, as evidenced by our discussions of itsusage in the current world situation.

Calvin, Melvin and Susan K. Vaughn, “Extraterrestrial Life: Some organicconstituents of meteorites and their significance for possible extraterrestrial biologicalevolution,” U.S. Atomic Energy Commission,http://repositories.cdlib.org/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=5746&context=lbnl(AccessedDecember 2, 2007).This paper discusses the types of information that can be gathered from “outer space” andits value in regards to the evolution of life here on earth. The focus is upon either the presence or absence of certain chemicals which could have significance in thedevelopment of life. While previously (prior to December 7, 1959), the only availableinformation was obtained by way of telescopic spectroscopy, new studies, particularlythose involving the examination of meteoric material has lead to new insights. Presently, new information is reported herein concerning the presence of complex organic materialsencased within the meteorites, some of which have appear to be uniquely pertinent to theformation of life.In a return to the citation presented above, we have become aware that physiologyand materials that produce adverse reactions in this format have the potential to causegreat harm against a targeted population. Information concerning the potential physiologyof potential opponents can be used to distinct advantage. This paper details the absence or  presence of certain chemicals which could potentially be involved in the formation process of extraterrestrial life. Knowledge of the necessary components would provide uswith opportunities to create tailored pathogens to combat opponents.

Science Reference Services, “Extraterrestrial Life,” Library of Congress,http://www.loc.gov/rr/scitech/tracer-bullets/extraterrestrialtb.html(AccessedDecember 1, 2007).A pathfinder for resources held by the Library of Congress and online information of scientific repute in various media formats containing information upon the subject of extraterrestrial life. These formats include books, reference works, conference proceedings, government publications, abstracts and indexes, journals and journalarticles, internet resources and other selected materials.

As the title implies, this is a pathfinder that provides information upon variousaspects of extraterrestrial life forms. It can be used to develop pathways of scholarshipfor preparation of alien contact. This could be considered an “essential” text for developing a library for the purposes of surviving and thriving in the event of firstcontact.

Agency for Toxic Substances and & Disease Registry, “Toxic Substances Portal,”Department of Health and Human Services,http://www.atsdr.cdc.gov/substances/ (Accessed December 1, 2007).Provides access to the latest research and related information concerning a multitude of toxic substances and how they affect our health. Information provided includescharacteristics, exposure rates, related health effects, and health studies and assessments.Physiology and chemical warfare appear to have become a focal point of this bibliography, and this and several more resources will provide additional instruction uponthe matter. Here we find a multitude of toxic substances and their properties listed. Theaffects upon the health of humans are listed, but the effects that these substances wouldhave upon extraterrestrial physiology are unknown at present.

Agency for Toxic Substances & Disease Registry, “Public Health Assessments andHealth Consultations,”http://www.atsdr.cdc.gov/hac/PHA/index.asp (Accessed December 1, 2007).Provides a listing of all Superfund sites in the United States, and provides the publichealth assessment for each site. These assessments determine if people are currentlyrisking exposure to hazardous substances. If they are, and the exposure is deemed to beharmful, it provides conclusions and recommendations for the reduction or stoppage of the exposure. In the chaos that could result from alien invasion, it is possible that one could become unaware of their present location geographically and this situation could result inthe potential for possible infection by various substances. Therefore this site provides alisting and mapping of all Superfund sites in the United States, coupled with nature of thehealth risks posed by each site. While in normal circumstances one would choose toavoid such a location, in the case of possible extraterrestrial attack they could be used assafe havens. If the exposure has been deemed not harmful, or proper protective measureshave been enacted, these areas could be used as refugee areas as the pathogens presentwould provide possible defense against extraterrestrial incursions.

Center for Devices and Radiological Health, “Medical Devices RequiringRefrigeration,” U.S. Food and Drug Administration,http://www.fda.gov/cdrh/emergency/refrigeration.html(Accessed December 1,2007).This document provides instruction for storage and usage of medical devices that requirerefrigeration during emergency situations. If the storage requirements of a device have been violated, the device is no longer safe for medical usage. However, one should notdiscard the device as that may contribute to product shortages. Information includes what
