Ideas by Aidan Codd.

After a talk with Alan on Friday night I went back and looked at what the language is saying about the brand. I jotted down some questions and answers for myself using my research that I found at the start of the week. Brand Q: what does this brand show on their program listings and what is it aimed at? A: The shows feature quite a bit of graphic surgery and events on most of the shows; I wouldnt say it was 100% aimed at children but more 12-13 year olds who arent squeamish about blood.

Q: what is the I-dent aimed at? A: unlike the shows the I-dent is aimed at children of a younger age , but still stay sophisticated in technology and what the i_-dent represents by simulating an animal or adapting with it. Eg , the elephant I-dent uses water as the logo. As well as that there was a similar pattern to real animals like the meekati-dent .

Q: what has came out from looking into the brand? A: child friendly, appropriate to that channel, real, sophisticated use of technology .

From these words you get Child friendly_ cant be scary_ stylised .

appropriate_ has to relate to the topic _ has to represent the animal that you choose_ or represent.

real _ in design _ fake use of the cg eg if a fake creature is made it represents the way in which a creature would act.

sophisticated use of technology _ think of how you can use the programs to replicate the real or stylised .

So after going through what the design of the brand means I went back over my words and looked at what they mean. Ocean Predators.

Predators: dangerous, big , colourful , dominating, poses of attack. Ocean : big , blue/ greenish , lots of life , hidden stuff under the surface , shells , beach rubbish.

The next stage was to work out what all the words mean together. Big , Blue/ greenish, Lots of life , Hidden stuff under the surface , Shells , Beach rubbish, Dangerous, Colourful , Dominating, Poses of attack, Sophisticated use of technology, Real, Child friendly,

I went through the list and highlighted the words that stood out. Big , Blue/ greenish, Lots of life , Hidden stuff under the surface , Shells , Beach rubbish, Dangerous, Colourful , Dominating, Poses of attack, Sophisticated use of technology, Real, Child friendly,

So with those words I came up with more ideas:

1. The camera goes down under water and it comes across a massive rock formation and you see a massive prehistoric ocean predator fossilised in the rock, the camera can see the whole creature, you then see the logo carved into the rocks( Animal Planet).

2. You see lots of little fish all looking scared and the camera pans to the thing thats scaring them and you see a shark Skelton on the sea floor and the camera pans out to see both the fish and the Skelton and you see theyre in a fish tank in a living room , and the animal channel logo comes on the screen of the fish tank.

3. You see two wind chimes spinning , one is a shark and the other a small fish , you see them spinning but missing each other so it looks like the shark is trying to eat the fish.

4. You see a toy of an old fashioned scuba diver slowly heading towards the sand, when a gold fish eats it whole then burps out the logo.

5. You see an ice sculptor of an octopus melting down on to ice fish below, the fish fall off and float then the octopus falls on top and all you see is its head bobbling in the melted water.

6. You see a cuckoo clock on the wall with a underwater pattern on it, you hear it strike the hour and a fish comes out of it like the bird would and the door is a shark mouth, so what you are seeing is a shark eating a fish.

7. You see a sand sculptor on the beach of an ocean predator with a fish sculptor in front of it. The next thing you see is the tide coming in and knocking the Shark in to the fish in front of it. (making it look like the shark has just ate the fish.)
