May 2012 Dear Friend, Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and from everyone at the Full Gospel Lighthouse Church in Torrington, CT. The Scripture says, O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in Him (Psalm 34:8). There are many experiences to be had in life, both good and bad. Some lead us to life and others lead us down the wrong path. The Bible tells us here to ...taste and see that the Lord is good... It doesnt ask first if you deserve it or not. This seems to be the trend of peoples thinking: they deserve the best. Thats silly to think that way because if the truth be known, we dont deserve the blessings God has given us! But He tells us to come and taste that He is good. You will be happy if you trust Him, if you flee to Him for protection from the storms of life. When God gives you an experience it is fresh. Many people want the finest, the best, and the newest life has to offer. But when it comes to spiritual things they settle for stale religion. Last years bread might be eaten but do you really want it? Its stale and chances are its got mold on it. Throw it out to the birds! But as for you, why dont you put your faith in the Lord Jesus and receive fresh bread from Him? Jesus said in John 6:35, I am the bread of life he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. If you taste the Bread of Life you will find it is fresh, warm, and satisfying! Theres nothing like a loaf of bread fresh out of the oven. The aroma fills the house. If its made right the very looks of it call to you to taste it. When you break it open and eat it you know you will be satisfied. Jesus Christ is the bread of life. Everything He gives is fresh from heaven. He never sent His people a stale loaf of religion. No wonder so many people are turned off by religion and what is called church today! Its old and musty. We take natural bread off the counter if its past its sale date, but we hold on to spiritual crusty old religion that never satisfies. All the while our inner man craves for fresh bread from heaven we hold on to something that may have been good for the day it was made but no longer brings life. You know the difference! What will you receive if you taste the living bread from heaven? Jesus said, I am the bread that came down from heaven. You may be looking for a financial blessing, a touch of healing for your body, comfort for your grieving soul; but let me encourage you to taste and see that the Lord is good! He will be everything you need if you put your trust in Him. He will be your prosperity; He will be your healing touch; He will be the comfort your soul longs for. Jesus

Christ is what you are looking for! He is the lily of every valley you go through. He is the bright and morning star, the dawning of hope for a new day. He is the rose of Sharon. In the Middle East, some think the herb Saint Johns Wort is actually the Rose of Sharon. If so, this perennial not only is beautiful but has oilbearing glands in it. These glands have anti-inflammatory and anti-depressant properties. There have been times when things have come my way that have been discouraging and painful. But when I tasted or experienced the presence of God, received the Word of God, felt the presence of the Almighty in my life, received prayer at the altars of God that His fresh healing touch has filled my soul and vanquished all depression! His very presence removes any pain you may be bearing. His presence fills the longing heart with joy and a peace that passes all understanding. Its no wonder that David, who wrote Psalm 34, could pen such words as these: O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in Him. Let Jesus renew your faith. Let Jesus fill your heart with His presence. Let Him minister to your soul and give His gift of eternal life to you. Dont wait to get things in order: come to Him today. He will give you the strength to get your life in order. Besides, He doesnt necessarily want your order anyway! Let Him be God of your life. Let Him save you from every sin and remove the weights that so easily beset you. Jesus said, I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live forever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. O my friend, taste and see for yourself that the Lord is good. You will be blessed and happy if you put your trust in Him! May God bless you this month from our church. I invite you to our services.
