Cloth of Dreams
When my grandmother was in her 70
ʼ
s her mission was to make a quilt for all of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. The quilt from my grandmother has become everyonesfavorite blanket in our household. When we are sick, feeling low or lonesome, we reach for theold quilt, which is getting a bit tattered after 20 years. On the bottom right corner there is a labelthat says “Made by Grandma with LOVE”. When we wrap ourselves in Grandma
ʼ
s quilt, we feelthe love that went into every stitch and the dreams she held for us.What would it be like if we wove our own cloth of dreams? After spending time in the Cave ofMiracles and Dreams, choose some coloured yarn and/or various coloured bits and pieces ofcloth that inspire you. Create a cloth of your dreams by gluing or sewing pieces together on topof larger piece of cloth, creating a mosaic of your dreams. As you weave, glue or sew, focus oneach dream during the process. The cloth may become a cover for your dream journal, or a clothfor your alter, a scarf, pillow case or something you put on your car mirror or keychain! Keepyour cloth of dreams close to you, where you will be reminded of them….And watch your dreamsunfold!
