Famous For 15 Minutes New Play Festival

HOW: Write a 15-minute play and submit it to the Famous For 15 Minutes New Play Festival
FAME: Famous For 15 Minutes New Play Festival will present new plays written by UAF
students, faculty, staff, alumni and affiliates in April, 2007. Playwrights will work with a troupe of
actors for a reading presentation.

FORTUNE: Student written 15 minute plays will be eligible for a PLAYWRITING AWARD.
The winner will be announced at an awards ceremony following the final performances and
receive $50.

PLAY GUIDELINES:
1.) Anyone associated with UAF may submit a fifteen minute play for possible production in the
festival. All scripts welcome! Only UAF students are eligible for the Annual Playwriting Award.
2.) All submissions must be typed, marked with page numbers, and securely bound.
3.) The play must be no longer than 15 minutes in length (approximately 15 typed pages).
4.) Plays in both English and other languages are eligible.
5.) The script must have the playwright’s name, address, telephone number, UAF affiliation, and
e-mail on the title page.
6.) Submit at least four copies of your script – or – one copy for each performer if there are more
than four characters. Example: If your play has two characters, submit four copies. If your
play has five characters, submit five copies. You may not make copies in the Theatre
Department Office.
6.) Entries will not be returned! So keep a copy for yourself.

WHERE: Submit to Heather Kasvinsky, UAF Theatre Office (302 Fine Arts Complex / Great
Hall).

WHEN: THE DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION IS FEBRUARY 11, 2007,

5:00pm. The plays chosen for production will be announced by March 17, 2007.
