Prevention organized in a vulnerable communities in Mauritius on violence and substance Abuse by creativity workshop the workshop were organized for children accompanying their parents and they were led to reflect and express themselves on the topics of domestic violence, substance abuse sexuality, family values, their rights and responsibilities voice of the children were shared with parents from the children themselves to enable them to become aware of the look and perception of their children. It is important to note that at the same time ,their parents had session prevention, children work on exactly the same themes but adapted to their age

Innovative Approach to prevent violence & substance abuse among children

They are able to differentiate between the different types of violence and the effects of tobacco and alcohol

ARTICLE 11 THE GIRL AND BOY CHILD 1. States Parties shall adopt laws, policies and programmes to ensure the development and protection of the girl child by: (a) eliminating all forms of discrimination against the girl child in the family, community, institutions and at state levels; (b) ensuring that girls have equal access to education and health care, and are not subjected to any treatment which causes them to develop a negative self-image; (c) ensuring that girls enjoy the same rights as boys and are protected from harmful cultural attitudes and practices in accordance with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and the African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the Child; (d) protecting girls from economic exploitation, trafficking and all forms of violence including sexual abuse; and (e) ensuring that girl children have equal access to information, education, services and facilities on sexual and reproductive health and rights. 2. States Parties shall put in place legislative and other measures to ensure that the boy child enjoys the same rights as the girl child under sub-Article 1

Some parents do not realize The importance of the different training given to them and to their children. So some children are not regular and it delays the work. Some foundation funds only those 30 initial sessions they make us find other financial support to continue monitoring. But all those who are regular and follow the sessions are realizing the reality of life and confront their daily lives easier
