I know it has been awhile since our last newsletter, but a very motivated, future journalist, Cadet Amber Whitfieldtook it upon herself to start it upagain. I am very proud of thework she has done. Her work is adirect example of how the rest ofthe squadron is coming along. Each of us is taking it uponourselves to improve our areas toensure an
Outstanding
ratingduring the upcoming SUI.Although it seemed 2011 went byreally fast, we did accomplish alot as you will see in the page 1article. I would also like toannounce Maj George Owen
snew position as the DeputyCommander for Seniors and MajDavid Jallen as the newOperations Officer. It isimperative that the right peopleare in the right position for a unitto be successful. I feel the rightteam has been assembled andthat we will have a verysuccessful year in 2012. Already, the year is starting out with anencampment, an instrumentcourse, 2 SAREX
s, the CadetCompetition and then a WingProfessional DevelopmentCourse. In 3
rd
ID, we had asaying,
Don
t miss the MarneExpress or you will be leftbehind
. Don
t let that happen toyou. Our in-house training willbegin as soon as the new yearbegins. Maj
s Jallen and Owenwill have the details. We will trainin a cycle that will keep usproficient in our EmergencyServices qualifications through acrawl-walk-run training program. They have a great plan and I can
twait to start. We have already begun to log themost hours on our airplane in thewing. The addition of 2 newpilots, both cadets, will help uskeep the hours up. If we can
trecruit them, we
ll make them. There will be a Cessna 182making an appearance soon. I willprovide those details as I getthem. See you at the nextmeeting on January 4
th
, 2012.I wish each of you and yourfamilies a Merry Christmas and aHappy New Year!Respectfully,Brett Lewis, Lt Col, CAP

sfuture. This year, our membership committeewill be making some adjustments to how newmembers join so that they will have a definiteunderstanding of what they are getting into. Ithink this will result in longer, more productivememberships. Thank you to everyone thathas participated this year to make oursquadron stronger and the events moremeaningful.
