STATE OF OKLAHOMA2nd Session of the 53rd Legislature (2012)HOUSERESOLUTION 1056By:DenneyAS INTRODUCEDA Resolution observing May 3, 2012, as the NationalDay of Prayer.WHEREAS, prayer, the act of offering reverent devotions to God,is the cornerstone of this great nation; andWHEREAS, through prayer we are able to speak directly to theCreator and petition for heavenly blessings; andWHEREAS, prayer is a source of solace in times of tragedy and ameans of giving thanks in times of happiness; andWHEREAS, often, in this modern world, we lose sight of the greatpower of prayer to bring meaning into our lives; andWHEREAS, it is proper to reflect on the strength that prayerprovides and the role prayer has played in the history of ourcountry; and
