GREENVILLE — SpectrumHealth United and Kelsey Hospi-tals have been honored with 2012 Awards from Practice Greenhealth,the national membership orga-nization for health care facilitiescommitted to environmentally responsible operations. UnitedHospital was honored with two Awards, “Partner for Change” and“Making Medicine Mercury Free.”Kelsey Hospital received a “Part-ner Recognition” Award. These Awards are Practice Greenhealth’sEnvironmental Excellence Awardsgiven each year to honor outstand-ing environmental achievements inthe health care sector.United Hospital was honored with the “Partner for Change” Award which recognizes healthcare facilities that continuously im-prove and expand on their mercury elimination, waste reduction, andsource reduction programs. Thisaward honors the efforts made toimprove the environmental foot-print. In addition, United Hospi-tal received the “Making MedicineMercury Free” Award which des-ignates that proven policies have been put in place to rid the facility of the harmful chemical mercury and to prevent it from re-enteringthe facility.Kelsey Hospital has been hon-ored with a “Partner Recognition”
