Flexi Multiradio CDMA Base Station Up to 70% lower costs and smooth evolution to LTE

The Flexi Multiradio CDMA Base Station merges Nokia Siemens Networks CDMA expertise with its Flexi Base Station portfolio. It provides operators with a highly capable and scalable solution, which in addition to fulfilling the demands made on todays CDMA networks also provides a smooth migration path to LTE. Furthermore the Flexi Multiradio CDMA Base Station provides the flexibility and reliability necessary for deployment in a range of indoor and outdoor environments. Both the baseband and multi-technology remote radio modules are built to withstand the extremes of outdoor deployments in almost any climate.
Significant OPEX savings (up to 70%) compared to earlier base station models Simplified installation requirements mean faster time to revenue Smooth evolution to LTE

The Flexi Multiradio CDMA Base Station provides a straightforward and rapid approach to network rollout: 20-30% fewer sites thanks to the modular and highly scalable design 20% lower capital expenditure (CAPEX) for site acquisition because its small and light enough to fit anywhere

Up to 70% lower total site power consumption compared with previous CDMA base stations and corresponding reduced operational expenditure (OPEX) Small or zero physical footprint, depending on the installation Smooth evolution from CDMA to LTE.

The Flexi Multiradio CDMA Base Station builds on the success of existing products, providing a common approach to operations and planning. It supports multi-mode CDMA at either 800 MHz or 1.9 GHz. The flexible remote software-defined radios deliver up to 3 x 60W and up to four CDMA carriers per transceiver in single-sector and three-sector configurations. Importantly, these are capable of simultaneous CDMA and LTE transmissions, providing investment protection as operators look to migrate towards 4G. Evolve from CDMA to LTE With its modular design, the Flexi Multiradio CDMA Base Station offers cost-effective network growth and flexibility while re-using and integrating existing site infrastructure. Its highly flexible architecture makes it compatible with the rest of the Nokia Siemens Networks equipment portfolio and also makes it future-ready. The Flexi Multiradio CDMA Base Station provides a smooth evolution path from CDMA to LTE, enabling the delivery of new capabilities as demand grows. Faster, simplified network rollout The Flexi Multiradio CDMA Base Station offers easy installation, operation and expansion. Its modular design simplifies site location and acquisition. Providing high flexibility, scalability and easy upgrades, the Flexi Multiradio CDMA Base Station makes it easier than ever to meet the needs of subscribers. Flexible design means that sites can readily be adapted to meet the needs of future radio technologies.

Up to 70% less power consumption The Flexi Multiradio CDMA Base Station drives down the total cost of network ownership. Its innovative design offers reduced power consumption of up to 70%*, resulting in smaller power systems and cooling requirements. This in turn reduces real-estate requirements, so a smaller footprint and reduced power consumption leads directly to reduced operational expenses. The CDMA- and LTE-capable remote

radio has a shorter antenna feeder to support typically double RF performance**. This also improves running costs and causes less environmental impact. Both the System (baseband) Module and RF (radio) Module can operate indoors or out, eliminating the need for expensive cabinets and/or shelters.
