What You Don't Know About Yvonne Mason?Background:
The eldest of five children, Yvonne was born May 17,1951 in Atlanta, Georgia. Raised in East Point, Georgia, she residedthere until 1970, and then moved to North Georgia where she worked asa Licensed Bounty Hunter for the state of Georgia. In 2006 she moved toPort St. Lucie, Florida where she currently makes her home.
Education:
After a 34 year absence, returned to college in 2004. YvonneMason graduated with honors in Criminal Justice with an Associate’sdegree from Lanier Technical College in 2006.
Awards:
Nominated for the prestigious GOAL award in 2005 whichencompasses all of the technical colleges. This award is based not onlyon excellence in academics but also leadership, positive attitude and thewillingness to excel in one’s major.
Affiliations: Beta Sigma Phi SororityThe Dream:
Since learning to write at the age of five, Yvonne has wantedto be an author. She wrote her first novel Stan’s Story beginning in 1974and completed it in 2006. Publication seemed impossible as rejections grewto 10 years. Determined, she continued adding to the story until her dreamcame true in 2006.
The Inspiration:
Yvonne’s brother Stan has been her inspiration and heroin every facet of her life. He was stricken with Encephalitis at the tenderage of nine months. He has defied every roadblock placed in his way andhas been the driving force in every one of her accomplishments. He is theone who taught her never to give up.
****************************Tell us what makes you proud to be a writer from Port St. Lucie, Florida?
What makes me beproud to be a writer from the US is the fact we are not censored. I can write what ever I want to withoutfear of reprisal.
What or who inspired you to become a writer?

When did you begin writing with the intention of becoming published?
I began writing with theintention of being published in the late 1970's - I knew that I had something to offer the reading public.
Did your environment or upbringing play a major role in your writing and why?
Yes, it did. Mymother has always been an avid reader. She passed that along to me. As a child I wrote as well as readbefore I ever started to school.
Do you come up with your title (s) before or after you write the manuscript (s)?
With Stan's Story,the title was originally A Touch of Love. That title came after I started writing. It seemed fitting for theman who is my hero. The Tangled Minds title came as the book was germinating in my creative mind.Brilliant Insanity was given to me by my publisher when he heard the story line. Silent Scream came as Iwas writing the book. The title came about because the victims were gagged and could only screamsilently in their heads and hearts as they watched while one was killed and then while they were beingkilled. They now have a voice and it is heard.
Tell us why you write the genre(s) that you write?
I started out with Stan's story because it was abook of success. I wanted the world to know what a special man he is. Tangled Minds and BrilliantInsanity were my imagination, although Tangled Minds is based on a true crime. Brilliant Insanity is aprelude to my true crime book. That is the area I am staying with. The reason is my background. I have adegree in Criminal Justice and am a Bounty Hunter. I like crawling around in the mind of the criminal. Ilike digging around to find out how and what they think. My true crime books also give the victims avoice. They can finally be heard so they can sleep well.
