Streamlight TLR-1s HP
Let ThereBe Light!
The howling you hear in the background is notLouisiana Bell toning the phone lines, it
thecoyote hunters when they get their hands on
Streamlight’s HP s
eries of weapon mountedlights! The TLR-1s HP (High Power), the subject of myreview, is a 200 lumen flamethrower, poweredby 2 CR123A batteries
delivering 1.75 hours of continuous lighting, which will extend yourunaided eye visibility out to 450 meters, makingit an ideal and cost effective way of equippingpatrol officer carbines as well.Like all the TLR weapon mounted lights, in
Streamlight’s line, the TLR
-1s HP uses apatented slide mount and ships with a completeset of locating keys that make it possible toattach the light on a variety of weaponplatforms. The housing is machined from aluminum and isO-ring sealed to provide IPX7 water resistance.Like its cousins in the TLR line the lens isconstructed out of a polycarbonate materialthat will not shatter and is scratch resistant.
The hallmark of Streamlight’s weapon
mountedlights is a tightly focused well collimated beam. This tradition is continued in the TLR-1s HP.The hotspot in the picture above tells the storymuch better than I can express it in words. Thedeep reflector used in the HP family throws atightly focused beam of light delivering aneffective range of 450 meters with anabundance of peripheral light.
