An interesting conclusion, Donald. Thank goodness indeed. Certainly this article could have used some explanation, rather than just a list of numbers. I don't have time to properly rectify that just now, but here are some other things I might point out.

First, the number of openly gay men was dramatically higher than the number of openly gay women - 10 times so, in fact. However, the number of openly bisexual women was actually slightly higher than the number of bisexual men. I don't think most people would have expected that.

Another difference is that the number of libertarian and very conservative males is a large multiple of the number of women with those political views.

And finally, as Donald points out, there are a lot more men single men looking for a relationship than there are single females looking for a relationship.

There is of course no guarantee that this data is representative of the population as a whole. Nevertheless, I think that the data from Facebook, if aggregated across multiple schools, is probably the most accurate, and certainly the largest poll of these statistics ever done. It is a shame that Facebook has not yet chosen to release cumulative statistics to sociologists, as I am certain there are interesting things to be learned.

Conclusion? That there are more men interested in women than there are women interested in men. Not surprised at that, but thank goodness for the women that ARE interested in us. :-)

This is interesting. What sort of conclusions would you draw from it?
