Introduction to Edmodo
How can a social media website engage students in their ownlearning?
How do you use Edmodo in the classroom?What can you do on Edmodo?
What can’t you do on Edmodo?
The teacher will guide students in signing up and learning howto use the online education social media web site Edmodo.They will learn and apply the different ways that they cansubmit work on the website.A computer lab or enough computers with internet connectionis needed at a minimum of one computer for every two studentsto me most successful.
Approximate Length of Unit (days, weeks)
4 Days recommended, one or two days a week for two to four weeks to learn how to setup and learn how to use Edmodo. After that time use of Edmodo should be fullyimplemented by teacher and students in daily/weekly class use.

Sign up for the teachers Edmodo class group
Personalize their own Edmodo Page
Submit work in various media forms
Receive Teacher/Peer Feedback
Provide clear feedback and/or comments to their classmates

Day 1) Teacher
should begin the first lesson with internet use reminder’s (follow district
guidelines found in student binder reminder). Proper etiquette when using social media isreviewed in a short classroom discussion.
Utilize the “Welcome to Edmodo –
Day 1” Teacher Presentation
Teacher will introduce students to Edmodo have them sign up. The
teacher will use the “Welcome to Edmodo” presentation slide show to guide students
while the students complete each step on their own computer.Profiles
Teacher will guide students in completing their own profiles andposting a short note to the class wall (front page).Day 2)

Turning in an Assignment/Attaching a Document
The teacher will post the followingassignment on Edmodo prior to the students arriving to class.
