Truman in 1949, is celebrated annually on thethird Saturday of May as part of "Armed Forces Week," which runsfrom the second Saturday to the third Sunday of the month; andWHEREAS, With pride in our nation's military strength andsuccesses, we acknowledge the members of our Army, Navy, AirForce, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, National Guard and theReserves and the government civilians and family memberssupporting them; andWHEREAS, A large number of our armed forces are activelyengaged in the global war on terrorism; andWHEREAS, Two hundred United States service members are now inIraq and 88,000 United States service members are in
