INTRODUCED BY COSTA, MAY 8, 2012INTRODUCED AND ADOPTED, MAY 8, 2012A RESOLUTIONRecognizing May 2012 as "Epilepsy Awareness Month" inPennsylvania.Whereas, Epilepsy affects more than 200,000 Pennsylvaniansand their families; andWhereas, One in twenty-six people will develop epilepsy inhis or her lifetime; andWhereas, Epilepsy is a neurological condition sometimesreferred to as a seizure disorder and is characterized byrecurring seizures; andWhereas, Up to 50,000 Americans die each year from seizuresand related causes, including sudden unexplained death inepilepsy; andWhereas, The Epilepsy Foundation in Pennsylvania leads thefight to stop seizures, find a cure and overcome the challengescreated by epilepsy; andWhereas, The Epilepsy Foundation Western/Central Pennsylvaniafirst received its charter in May 1972; andWhereas, The Epilepsy Foundation in Pennsylvania is dedicated
