INFORMATION FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ADMISSIONS Thanks you for your interest in UNIVERSITI MALAYSIA SABAH (UMS). Direct applications can be made by filling out the UMS Postgraduate Application Forms which can be downloaded from our website or, alternatively you can apply online by visiting our website at https://ppps.ums.edu.my . Please be reminded that applicants must print out and send their online application together with the academic certificates and transcripts or any relevant documents which have been certified true to the Centre for Postgraduate Studies, UMS as stated below. Interested applicants who meet the requirements set by University are welcome to apply. Our entry requirement requires that applicant must obtain a PASS from recognized secondary and/or tertiary education institution(s) in their country of origin (equivalent to A-LEVEL) with minimum score B- or 80% in 3 subjects related to the programme applied. A letter from the Ministry of Education of your country confirming this must be attached. You are further required to show proof of competency in the English Language with the English Test Certificate such as TOEFL or IELTS. Minimum score for TOEFL (550/213), IELTS (Band 6). However this requirement is waived for applicants from countries using English as a medium of instruction. You must also prove that you are able to support yourself financially for the full duration of your studies in UMS. A duly certified true copy of an official Diploma/ Certificates, transcript/ mark sheets from secondary/tertiary education institution(s) you have attended; Translation in English of item 1. above by the Education Department of your country of origin, if an English translation is not available; A duly certified true copy of Certificate of Education Completion secondary/ tertiary education institution(s); Letter from Ministry of Higher Education Ministry confirming that the Diploma/ Certificate as in 1. above is equivalent to A-Level A duly certified true copy of English Certificate (TOEFL/ IELTS) A duly certified copy of support document of Financial Statement Three (3) certified true copies of ALL pages of passport (including blank pages) (Passport must be valid for at least 12 months); Five (5) recent passport-sized photographs (5 cm X 4 cm) with the students name written overleaf; and Processing fee of RM120 or USD35.

* Students are strongly advised not enter Malaysia before receiving the Letter of Approval for Foreign Students Studying in Malaysia issued by the Immigration Department. Universiti Malaysia Sabah will not liable any way in event application for Student Pass and Visa for any student is rejected by Immigration Department of Malaysia. Student who enter Malaysia prior to obtaining the approval from the Immigration Department and is later granted the Student Pass and Visa, is required some additional amount to Immigration Department for a Journey Performed (JP) Visa.
