In the Sa-rang, Korea, there was a couple, Soo-il and Soon-ae.

They loved each other and they wanted to get married. But, Soon-aes father never allowed her to marry with soo-il. Because her father never allowed, her father lied to her, he told soo-il got married and pushed her to marry with jung-bae. She was very sad, but she agreed to marry jung-bae. They was not happy because they didint love each other. Jung-bae met other girl and seldom came back home. One day, soo-il went to soon-aes home, soon-ae was very happy and jumped down from her room, which was on the second floor, and she fainted. When she opened her eyes, she saw her family and soo-il. Then she knew her father lied her, she was very sad. Soo-il came to see her everyday but her father would not let him to see her. Soo-il decided to secretly take her to a small town. In the town, he cut trees and sold them to make a living, and soon-ae slowly recovered and was able to move again. One day, when he came back home, he saw a rose on the edge of a cliff and tried to take it, but he slid and fell over the cliff. Soon-ae was waiting for him as usual, some people in the town came to her with his possession. Immediately, she went to the place where his possessions were found, but she could not find his body, only a flower. After that, she never ate or drank and never talked to anybody. She only though soo-il. Finally, she closed her eyes forever and she buried near the place where a flower was found. But at the time, her grave disappeared and another flower appeared in the same place.
