Stock of the Year 
Each year, the top ProRodeo cowboys in each roughstock event vote or the top bucking horsesand bulls – the animal athletes with whom they contend in the arena and whose perormance is worthhal their own scores. Ballots go out every Sept. 1, and the winning animals are acclaimed at the PRCA’sannual awards banquet each year just beore the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo.Stock contractors are proud o these top buckers. They invest heavily in purchases and/or breedingprograms, eed and medical care or their bucking stock or years, ostering the animals’ growth anddevelopment until they are ready to be tested in the arena or the bucking instinct and physical abilitiesthat may make them champions in their own right.In 2010, Pendleton Whisky expanded its ProRodeo involvement by sponsoring the stock awards,which are now known as the Pendleton Whisky Let ‘er Buck Stock o the Year Awards. Pendleton Whiskyprovides cash prizes or the top three animals in each event and unds the stipends or stock contractorswho provide bucking stock or the Wrangler NFR.

Frontier Rodeo is the rst stock contractor to win bothbucking horse awards in the same year, and MedicineWoman wasn’t done winning until the very last round
o the 2011 Wrangler NFR, where Wade Sundell, let,
rode her or 86.5 points and second place in the round,
which was a big actor in Sundell’s third-place nishin the average. Earlier in 2011, Bradley Harter, Cody
DeMoss and Ty Atchison saw their ortunes improved
by rides on Medicine Woman, making her a populardraw or saddle bronc riders.
Palm Springs 
4L and Diamond S Rodeo 
During the 2011 season, only two riders managed to
stay aboard 4L and Diamond S Rodeo’s spotted white
bull beore the Wrangler NFR – three-time world
champion J.W. Harris in Pueblo, Colo., and Ardie Maier
at San Antonio – and Palm Springs continued his
winning ways at the NFR, bucking o seven-time NFR
qualifer Bobby Welsh in Round 5 and 2011 Justin
Boots Championships winner Jacob O’Mara in Round
8. Steve Woolsey, right, ared better on Palm Springsat the 2010 NFR, where he scored an 87.5 or third
place in the last round. Palm Springs edged out
another 4L bull, Big Iron, who came in second or thesecond consecutive year.
