Date: May 3, 2012 Subject: Pasco County MPO to form Bicycle/Pedestrian Advisory Committee To address the bicycle and pedestrian issues in Pasco County, the MPO Board at their April 12 th MPO Meeting, approved a staff recommendation authorizing the creation of a Bicycle/Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC). As envisioned, the BPAC committee would be responsible to make recommendations to the MPO Board on matters concerning the comprehensive bikeway and pedestrian system/plan, which is a part of the MPOs Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP), and to promote safety, security, education and enforcement of laws pertaining to both pedestrians and bicycles. The BPACs overall mission will be to recommend ways to make Pasco County a safer and more pleasurable place to bicycle and walk. The MPO staff is soliciting interested individuals through this advertisement to ensure that bicycle and pedestrian enthusiasts and advocates are provided an opportunity to be a member of the BPAC.
