May 17, 2012 Dear Parents/Guardians: As principal of Narbonne High School, the safety and well-being of our students and staff is my top priority. The purpose of this letter is to inform you of an investigation involving alleged misconduct by a school employee who has been removed from campus pending the results of the investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department. The school and District administration have fully cooperated with the authorities. At the direction of the Los Angeles Police Department, the details of this incident are confidential and cannot be disclosed. The employee has been removed from the campus and will not return until the investigation is complete and the allegations are determined to be unfounded. While there is a presumption of innocence in matters of this nature, the District takes each and every reported act of misconduct seriously. We are committed to aggressively pursuing each case to determine the truth and, if necessary, initiate the appropriate disciplinary or administrative measures. The District will provide crisis intervention counselors to work with students who might be impacted by the removal of the employee. I have scheduled two parent meetings for Friday, May 18, 2012 to discuss any concerns you may have regarding this matter. You can attend either the 7:30 a.m. meeting or the 5:00 p.m. meeting. The meetings will be held in the school auditorium. I would like to reassure parents and guardians that the school and District will take every precaution to ensure the safety of students and staff at our schools.
