There are more powerful and efficient techniques out there, but for those you will need the safety andsupport of  NLP Practitioner Coursesin order to perfect and practice.
Applications of RedefinePatterns
Before we look at some more applications, just readthe first lesson again and notice how many times Icycle you through the pattern. Now let us look atsome more applications:
Arguments
:The issue is not (their point), but (my point), andthen ask a question to get them to focus on your  point. For example:The issue is not about western oil interests in the Middle East but about the bombingof innocent victims from both sides, what measures can we start putting into place toensure a move towards peace?Or if you are feeling particularly nasty:The issue is not about the point you are doggedly holding on to but your insecurity inhaving to hold a fix position, what are you going to do to increase your self esteem?

Flirting
The issue is not how much we are going to be talked about in the office, but are wegoing to give them something to really talk about, what would you say if we were totake the afternoon of, go back to my place and….
Sales
:The issue is not about the expense of The Persuasion Skills Black Book but abouthow for less than the price of a daily cup of coffee and the time it takes to drink it youcan powerfully enhance your persuasion skills in less than two weeks?
How about the most extreme sales example I can think of
:You make a valid point in that you have no use for the product at all, but the real issueis about how much fun you have writing big cheques, tell me how big that cheque hasto be in order to split your sides with laughter as you hand it over to me?Don’t really expect that one to work…but might be worth a go sometime.I can carry on coming up with examples all afternoon, but the point has been madeand you are already getting the idea of how to use this pattern, aren’t you?So for a few minutes think about where, when and how you will use this pattern.
Practicing Patterns
Take the opportunity to think up the phrases and practice saying them out loud. To getto be spontaneous with these patterns is to spend some time thinking about how youwould use them and then spend sometime saying the patterns out loud so your mouthgets used to saying them.We will talk more about practicing and combining patterns in The Persuasion SkillsBlack Book but for the moment read through these two lessons again and notice howmany times and variations of this pattern I have used, get used to saying it and then goand unleash this pattern on some unsuspecting member of the public.
In The Next Lesson
In the next lesson I will show you a pattern that will allow you to attach conditions toanything that is said. You might think that a little ambitious, I would agree with youand just imagine if it were possible…could you have fun with the idea?Go play,Have fun,And remember the issue is not about having to learn complex patterns but to take asimple idea and just use them to get results. Just Ten Minutes a day firing patterns at poor unsuspecting members of the public. See you in the next lesson.
