Margaret Elizabeth Noble was an Anglo-Irish social worker, author, teacher and disciple of Swami Vivekananda. Swami Vivekananda gave her the name Nivedita (meaning "Dedicated to God") when he initiated her into the vow of Brahmacharya on March 25 1898.
