TURMERIC
Fundamentals: Turmeric major markets were reported up on Monday. Exporters were active in the domestic market as they have got fresh order for the Root variety turmeric from Punjab, Delhi and some other places. So, they purchased almost all the arrived root variety turmeric. Also fresh orders for the quality finger variety turmeric in the spot market. CORIANDER SEED
Fundamentals: Steady to firm sentiment was reported in Coriander market on Monday. Low stocks amid restricted arrivals from producing regions support the prices. Export demand noticed for Eagle, Eagle A1 and Scotter variety in the current spot market. Sri Lanka and Nepal are the major export destination from Ramganj mandi. Higher production in 2012 due to higher acreage and favourable weather condition put pressure on prices. BLACK PEPPER
Fundamentals: Firm sentiment witnessed in major pepper markets on Monday. Producers were not offloading their stocks in the domestic market on expectation of higher prices in future. Lower stocks positions in the domestic mandis amid global shortage were reported. In the international market, Indian black pepper MG -1 is quoted at USD 7,600 per ton per ton C&F US. Vietnam 500 GL quoted at USD 6,300 per ton and 550 GL at USD 6,550 per ton. Austa offered at USD 6,950 per ton FOB. Meanwhile, Double washed from Vietnam quoted at USD 9,300 per ton FOB. Brazil Austa offered at USD 7,000 per ton and B-1 560 GL offered at USD 6,850 per ton FOB.

CUMIN SEED
Fundamentals: Cumin prices were reported up in Unjha market on Monday. Due to supply crunch in international market Cumin seed demand are shifted to Indian market and support the prices. Demand from exporters was reported in the domestic market which also may support the prices in coming days. Indian cumin seed quoted at USD 2,500 per ton (cnf) Singapore. and 2,650 per ton (C&F) New York. In the international market Syria and Turkey are not offering. Trading activity reported stagnant in Syria on civil war. Jeera stock in Unjha is reported at 5 - 6 lakh bags (1 bag = 65 Kg) which was lower as compared to the previous year stocks. Similarly total stocks in India is reported to stay in the range of 8 - 9 lakh bags (1 bag = 65 Kgs). CARDAMOM
Fundamentals: Cardamom prices were reported up on Monday. At higher levels buyers were reported unresponsive, however export demand mainly found from UAE and other export destination. In long term, domestic demand may further increase from stockists and buyers on expectation of lower arrivals. Stockists anticipating a rise in prices during the current lean season are said to have bought good quantities of the material earlier, Expectation of lower arrivals in coming months like May, June and July may support the cardamom prices in the domestic market.
