Mr. Ackman - You provide good analysis and have some great projections! None of those Revenue Projections would come true IF the CUSTOMER (SHE!) votes with their FEET and WALLET! I Agree - proof will be in the 2013 and 2014 Top line Numbers! Will it GROW by double digits OR DECLINE?

The American consumer is dead and just doesn't know it yet. In the cluttered and undifferentiated world of retail is a has-been, also-ran that even The Prophet Ron Johnson cannot save. Employees suffer from a dreadful work environment, low pay and having to toil in tired uninspired stores. The only thing accurate in this charlatan of a slide deck is the downside protection.

Having been at Target for 32 years and now consulting there is an attitude that goes along with success. JCP in my mind is working all the critical factors. It does take time to turn a ship and get customers to see and experience a new shopping experience. Lets see what happens this Back to School and Fall. By the way, I know they are taking a close look at Florida.

America wants to love JCP, and I think they're on the right track. Would JCP want to think outside the box and become a retailer giant in Downtown Tampa - no major retail competition, and plenty of desire for shopping in the area. 50 to 60 thousand work here each day, and condo and rental projects soaring with over 6,000 residents and growing. Nowhere to shop homegoods or ready-to-wear.

Why this will not succeed: the presenter neglected the most important point. WHy the new strategy is good for the customer.
