TheLosAngelesUnifiedSchoolDistrictiscommittedtomaintaininga
workingand
learningenvironmentthatisfreefromsexualharassment.Sexualharassmentoforbyemployees,students,orpersonsdoingbusinessfortheDistrict,isa
form
ofsexdiscrimination
in
thatitconstitutesdifferentialtreatmenton-thebasis
of
sex,oractualorperceivedsexualorientationorgender.
As
'such,itisaviolationofstateandfederallawsandaviolationofthispolicy.TheDistrictconsiderssexualharassmentto
be
amajoroffense,whichcanresultindisciplinaryactiontotheoffendingemployeeincludingbutnotlimitedtotermination.AnyemployeeoftheDistrictwhobelievesthatshe
or
hehasbeena
target
ofsexualharassmentshallbring
the
problemtotheattentionofthesite.administratorordesigneesothatappropriateactionmaybetakentoresolvetheproblem.Complaints.willbepromptlyinvestigatedinawaythatrespectstheprivacyofthepartiesconcerned.TheDistrictprohibits-retaliatorybehavioragainstanyonewhofiles
a
sexualharassmentcomplaintoranyparticipant
in
the
complaintinvestigationprocess.Thisbulletinreplaces
BUL-1893.0.
Thisrevisioncontainsupdatedinformationregardingtherelatedresourceslisted.Thisrevisionalsoreflectscurrentstateandfederalrequirementsandprovidesguidanceandproceduresforinvestigatingemployeetoemployeecomplaintsofsexualharassment..
