4 people liked this.I do have some concerns about the details, but overall I am excited about the prospect of capitalimprovements in Glenmont. Goodness knows we're long overdue.I Am looking forward to the new mixed use development that increase density of residential, commercial, and retail in the core.I find it very disappointing that after 12-15 years of planning and promises.. Wheaton redevelopmentgets railroaded with a poor and surprisingly poor substitute for enhancing Wheaton.. and givingGlenmont a lan that Wheaton has been develoin and fihtin for!

I want Wheaton to get its much-needed redevelopment, too. Wheaton and Glenmont areneighbors; what's good for one is generally good for the other. We continue to fight for Wheaton to get what it needs. Glenmont and Wheaton are two sidesto one coin. We need to join our efforts to create two centers that complement each others. The only reason I continue to reside in Glenmont is because drastic redevelopment is coming. I won'thave to move or drive to have access to the kinds of conveniences and perks previously reservedfor centers like Bethesda or Rockville.- removed -Ohhhhhh man I really hope the arcade and parking lot gets turned into a "mixed opportunitycommunity center" area with lots of shops and even condos. Hooray for property value!Your plan to build townhouses and apartments in front of single family homes is unacceptable. Singlefamily homes will no longer face the street. They will either face the back or front of the townhouses,Either way you would be turning the area into a ghetto. You walk on the hopes, dreams, and goals of citizens for the sake of the almighty developer dollar. Then you go off to your homes inneighborhoods far removed from the mess you have made in ours while you enjoy the perks, benefits, and salaries provided you by the developers through the state.
