Dear WDS Board of Directors: Recent statements by Washington Dental Service (WDS)CEO James Dwyer raise the question of his fitness to continue to represent the state's largest dental insurer. His total disregard for the impact of his statements on the very profession on which WDS depends, his apparent ignorance of the business of dentistry, and his effort to demean the profession with the public, were appalling. We fully understand that you, as a member of the Board of Directors, have a fiduciary responsibility for the actions of WDS and its employees. It is time for you to exercise that responsibility and take action to demonstrate that WDS does indeed value its relationship with the dental profession and the patient/ doctor relationship that is the basis of your business.
