Current Cases and Themes in Region 5 States Related to the Bureau of Indian Education (BIE) Schools and Compliance with IDEA and The Role of the P&A Room: Boardroom Therese Yanan, Co-Director of Program Services, Native American Disability Law Center Inc., New Mexico Join Therese and discuss issues related to the implementation of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) in schools operated or funded by the Bureau of Education. Specific focus will be on those states within Region 5. Session Takeaway: Participants will gain an understanding of the BIE's responsibilities under the IDEA & how the IDEA is implemented in BIE schools.
